The perfumery author never stops, much less the characters and the brand that animate it. It seems like yesterday the end of the week perfume Milan 2014 and many serial sniffers have not finished yet to try the new products introduced in March, which arrive the first highlights of Pitti 12 fragrances that will take place as usual at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence, from Friday 12 on Sunday, September 14.

The word to perfume. This edition will feature a fascinating subject, Perfumes & Parole, which will become the main theme of the festival fiorentina with meetings, appointments of olfactory culture, installations and panel discussions devoted to dialogue between words and fragrances, with particular attention to those poets and writers which over the centuries have loved to write and describe the world of odors through their art.

Among the special projects Fragrances 2014 mention Verba Olent – Journey in the literature of perfume, a journey exciting by Giovanna Zucconi, journalist and presenter of radio and television and soul of Serra & Fonseca, a brand that explores the connections between perfume and literature, art and design. The project-installation Verba Olent is a journey through the many shades of the perfume literature, or literature scented. It is no secret that fragrances and odors through the centuries in Western literature: a secret track high emotional intensity, a fil rouge bouquet to express eros, nostalgia, social judgment, mysticism. From the Bible to Baudelaire, from Shakespeare to Pascoli, the most neglected and mysterious character sketches of the senses, conveys emotions, evoking memories, says the past is used to tell the impalpable, invisible, indescribable and often even unfathomably .

Beyond words, at Pitti Fragrances 12 there will be the most loved brand of perfume copyright with their classics and novelties that we anticipate will be many.

The best of the first day at Pitti:

The Pitti Fragrances is always a mix of emotions and events, meetings with international noses and homegrown discoveries. Here’s the best of the first day, according to the editors of Icon.

1 Shades of Indigo Olfactive Studio. It is inspired by a photograph, like all of the line – in this case an image of Gustavo Pellizzon in which a young woman (or man?) Emerges from the water. The jus is a blue sea, and contains woods, resins, tuberose and petit grain. Distributed in Italy by essenses.

2 Patchouliful Laboratory Olfactory. This is a real patchouli, inspired by a traditional king but who has lived in the seventies, then brings Hawaiian shirts and marched through the streets. The earthy patchouli is less than usual, which appears and disappears in surprise. Distributed in Italy by Kaon.

3 The Modern Figaro Chez Dedi and Men’s Heritage. The portable kit for the perfect hipster: a toothbrush and a comb mustache, a mustache wax always to Capt Fawcett’s encased in an elegant clutch bag in soft leather.

Vintage set of 4 Taylor of Old Bond Street. Toothbrushes of all shapes and sizes to clean the nails, and the elegance of English gentleman from Taylor of Old Bond Street always win. Distributed in Italy by Calè.

5 Cleanser by Zenology. A unisex body line, from shampoo to shower gel, in respect of the skin and also the aesthetics of the bathroom. Distributed in Italy by Campomarzio70.

Ah, Fall. It’s the transitional season that you can’t help but love! Not only are you changing your style and revamping your beauty selections, but nature is also giving you new hues for inspiration. Every season I like the idea of a refresh. A time to reinvent yourself and play up your favorite features. Now that many of you are locking down your school style, there is no better time to set a few fall beauty resolutions – the perfect excuse for exploring a new beautiful you and building a few habits along the way.

If you’re at a loss for what to tackle this fall, I’ve got you covered. Here are 4 commitments to keep this season.

Fall Beauty Resolutions

Moisturize Daily – As much as you think you’re regularly nourishing your skin, you may be skipping areas that really need hydration. With a little summer damage done and winter soon to dry out your skin, now is the time to build the habit. Every day after a shower make sure to lotion your entire body. Pay extra attention to the areas that are exposed to the elements, like your face, neck, hands, elbows, and feet. And remember to transition your products for fall as well!

Select a New Nail Color – A new rich hue or some graphic nail art – either way a new nail look will give you an edge like no other. And if you’re stuck with uniforms and minimal makeup at school, a dreamy emerald or popping plum will let your personality shine without breaking the rules. A new signature nail look can make you feel more alive and ready to take on anything. Darker hues and detailed nail art aren’t very forgiving, so use this season to perfect your application and you’ll be left with a perfect polish from here on out. No one likes tinted cuticles!

Regularly Make a Statement – You’ll already be rocking knock out nails, so why not be bolder by playing up some of your other features. During the fall you can start with an au naturel look and then change one characteristic for a dreamy, but fierce, finish without packing on a full face. Less sunshine and thicker clothes immediately makes me think of more statement eye makeup. Play around with the thickness of your eyeliner or make your brows the focal point of your look. Either way, be daring with something a little more eye-catching (pun intended). 😉

Incorporate More Oils – Sometimes the greatest way to revitalize our locks, calm our minds and clear our skin is with the help of just one ingredient – oil. Try a more natural approach to beauty this fall and save a little money (the gift giving season will be here before you know it) by learning about the many uses of coconut oil, or by adding another beauty-benefiting oil to your routine. Once essential oils and beautifying oils are added to your arsenal, you’ll be able to DIY masks and select products that are right for your skin and hair type with ease.

What will you change this season? Have any habits you’re hoping to build?

I am always looking for ways to heal my family’s various ailments with natural remedies that aren’t harmful to our bodies and/or loaded with tons of chemicals that cause side effects. I started by using homeopathy . Then I stumbled upon essential oils and was so curious, I took various classes on them and immediately began using the oils to heal all types of ailments. What is crazy is that essential oils have been used for thousands of years in many other countries, just not commonly in the US. And actually, based on Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese manuscripts, we know that essential oils were the first form of medicine. I had a friend who moved here from France who went looking for essential oils for her son in a typical US pharmacy and was shocked to find that there weren’t any. Apparently, essential oils make up the majority of medicines offered in French pharmacies but are nowhere to be found in ours.

Last time I visited Maegan, who was skeptical of the oil’s healing powers, I pulled out my doTERRA Clary Clam women’s blend to help her with her PMS/period symptoms and asked her to just try it out. She rolled the oils on her lower abdomen, around her ovaries, wrists, {back of her} neck, and even on her lower back and she was shocked by the pain relief she felt within minutes by simply rubbing the oils on her body.

After a few days of period relief from my Clary Clam oils, Maegan was convinced and asked if I wanted to share a little information about how they work with all of you I agreed…

What can you use essential oils for?
So many things, it blows my mind constantly. Whenever I hear a friend complain about an ache or pain or symptom of a sickness, I find myself thinking “I have an oil for that” and offer a little natural relief. Essential oils have become a way of living for me now. I use them daily for everything! From cleaning products in my house to healing, and even as vitamins and minerals, essential oils work in so many ways. You can read a little more about the Science of Essential Oils here and the history of using essential oils to heal here.

I love this page where you can look through a list of ailments and health concerns, click on your personal struggle to read about it and get suggestions on what oils will help treat it.

How do you use essential oils?
There are a variety of ways. Topical {rubbing the oil on your skin} is the easiest way and offers quick relief. You can ingest specific oils in very small quantities (ONLY some doTERRA oils have been approved for consumption), and by diffusion as well, either by hand – putting oil in your hands and cupping it over your nose and inhaling deeply, or by water diffusion. I have fallen in love with the high quality and purity of doTERRA oils which have no artificial fillers and are safe.

Each of our body chemistry is different. There are a variety of oils that help in healing the same ailment but some will work better for others than what may work for you. It is a trial and error experiment until you find exactly what works for you. But it’s worth it to know that you can heal yourself naturally without adding more unnecessary toxins and chemicals to your body.

Every type of water you can imagine finds its way into our beauty routines at some point. You may not be making a conscious decision to incorporate different forms of water into your skincare regimen, but thermals, rose waters and others are ingredients in many of our face washes and sprays. That’s because these waters are nutrient-rich and can ease some of our least favorite skin issues.

Did you notice that after all of those summer days at the beach and dips in the ocean your skin looked fantastic? That’s not all the handy work of a bronzed face, it’s the sea water that is giving you that even skin tone. Used in ancient times to naturally heal cuts and strengthen the immune system, the benefits of sea water have been most commonly associated with clear skin. Sea water is loaded with magnesium that helps your skin retain moisture and diminishes skin issues like acne and dermatitis. It can reduce joint and muscle inflammation, calm the body (bye, bye, stress), and pump your skin full of vitamins and minerals as well.

In France, they practice thalassotherapy, which uses sea water and marine botanicals in spa treatments to accomplish the body nourishments above. Luckily, a trip to France or daily ocean visits aren’t necessary to enjoy the benefits. Now there are plenty of products made with sea water ingredients (like salt and botanicals) that not only give you those beach waves year round, but will also exfoliate, remove toxins, and leave your skin silky smooth.

Here are a just of few to add to your shower caddy before the season changes…

  2. H20 Face Oasis Dual-Action Exfoliating Cleanser – H20 has done so many great things over the years. Here’s looking at you 212 Carolina Herrera collabo! This cleanser is just another to add to their list. It invigorates, exfoliates, and brightens. And with the help of sea lettuce, it firms!
  3. Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash – This inexpensive foam cleanser is gentle on the skin and has a pleasant coconut smell. Pacifica is cruelty-free and this wash is sulfate-free. It seems to be a favorite for those with sensitive skin and a beauty budget.
  4. Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub – This scrub exfoliates the skin and clears pores, banishing blemishes and leaving your skin calm and balanced. The salt is mixed with avocado and coconut for hydrating oomph and soothing smell.
  5. AHAVA Dead Sea Mud Dermud Intensive Hand Cream – Our hands, like our face, show age first, so we want to take care of them. This rich, but grease-free, cream uses oils combined with ingredients from the Dead Sea will moisturize the driest of skin immediately. To cut or not to cut? That is the question! If you desire a long hairstyle don’t chop the lengths but just make your hair looks healthier and lighter cutting a bit by levels. Long hair is a bit of hard work, you have to take care of it and use the right products but in emergency cases you can always repair with some simple hairdos like chic ponytails or romantic braids.
